Hi there!

I'm not sure about the adoption side of things, but just a little advice that was said at the CYF training I was at on the weekend. If you are even considering adoption they don't encourage you to look at caregiving, just for the fact is, they aren't your children and they may have to go back to their families one day (which would be hard like you said).

Hi,

Just wondering as we have been looking into the possibility of adoption whether anyone here has any information or views to share?
I see there seems to not be a forum on here to discuss with others.
We have done IVF with ICSI and have one beautiful son and are pregnant with another son. We always thought we would have 3 children and would love a daughter to complete our family and are looking into adoption as a possibility.
I've read it takes about a year to complete your profile and then you can be on a waiting list from 2 hours till forever..... It just depends on when you are selected by the mother/family of a child going up for adoption.

We also thought about fostering and helping out through CYF's but I don't know how I would go about handing a child back when the situation was resolved at their home.
