Once he was born I increased my soy intake and reduced the dairy prodcuts, eventually cutting out choc and having very little dairy products due to his reflux. When that didnt work , my natural health practioner told me to stop the soy, which I was consuming in increasing ammounts to try and increase my protein intake, and he improved staright away. I have tried to re-introduce tiny bits of soy to my diet and he is terribley unsettled for 24hrs each time. I have no idea if hes got a problem with dairy, I dont eat much on purpose and am not giving him any yet.

All because I somehow discovered I could eat dairy with A in the third trimester.

I have since found out that I can eat dairy while I am pregnant because immune systems get suppressed. So if me eating dairy caused it to be passed on I don't know. It could be that genetic luck of the draw as well.

Interesting...the link is broken now, wonder if the story was removed?

But seriously, first 15 days Would it not be enough if the mother is BFing and consuming milk?

But this bit is weird (are they saying that's what the WHO recommends?): The Tel Aviv University study provides invaluable information for lactation specialists, and possibly for the World Health Organization, which currently recommends that a woman switch from breast to bottle at the three-to-five month period.

I do wonder how 'dangerous' the idea is, when BFing is hard enough, would this approach sway people away from BFing for longer/at all?

Thanks for the link AandC'smum.....I'm wondering how we are going to approach things with #2 - do both of your two have dairy allergies? Did you do anything the same/different with C?
