Yeah that sounds nice and polite and doesn't leave guests wondering where they stand. I always send my invites out with each of the family members names on the invite but then I am inviting them all, not just my child's friends.

If you are happy for the family to come them maybe to spell it out to guests I would put something like "please note that we will be paying for the kid's meals only. There will be birthday cake for everyone. the family is welcome.". If I received an invite with just one of the boys' name on it I would be wondering if the rest of were welcome (it wouldn't matter if we weren't, I just wouldn't be sure) or I might think that I should just drop my child off and come back later

ETA: just realised you said her 2nd birthday so definately not a 'drop off' party

I like that, polite but clear. I agree with the others, just put down the child's name that you are inviting. DD has been to lots of parties where siblings have been welcome to attend at their parents own cost. We went to a McDonald;s birthday party last Saturday and they had put both mine and G's name's on the invite but the Mum had written on the bottom "please note that we will be paying for the kid's meals only. There will be birthday cake for everyone". I wouldn't have expected her to pay for me but it was good that she spelt it out, and it was nice that there was a piece of cake for everyone. Just the kid you are inviting. That way it makes it clear that you are only paying for that child, if there are siblings & the parents chose to bring them it's up to them to buy them food.

I would personally just put the kids name. Ava's second birthday is coming up in a little over a month and in a week or so i will be sending out the invites.

We are just doing a McDonalds party and obviously I will pay for all of the kids attending. Soooo, what do i write on the invite - kids name and family , or just the kids name? If i write "and family" does that automatically mean I will need to pay for the family if they decide to eat as well?
