We took Ava back to the Dr the other day and believe it or not after grommets and getting the mucus removed and ear drops she STILL had an ear infection. So back onto ear drops she went. She is much better now. We're gearing up for a grommets op soon too, so good to be prepared for after-effects.

'tis a bit out there, but if it continues with no obvious cause, I'd recommend going to a homeopath as they can treat all sorts of causes of fears etc. and are much less airy fairy than naturopaths.

She is 2. My DD has had 4 generals and has had no problems after any of them - so sounds like it might be a coincidence? How old is she?? I've been told if they are young then they have no idea about the surgery etc, and DD has never mentioned it at all and has never been concerned when we take her back to the same place for each of the ops... Hey denny25.  Gosh that sounds awful.  I can't talk from experience here as my Son hasn't had any surgery but I would guess that if it was pts that she would suffer from it during the day too while napping, not just at night?  But like I said I haven't been there so am not entirely sure.  Perhaps she is just needing lots of mummy & daddy cuddles as she is still recovering from her op. 

Is she still on painkillers as maybe by the morning they've worn off and she's in pain??

Ava had grommets fitted, and her adenoids taken out on Thursday. She woke up from the general anaesthetic perfectly fine - the nurse said she looked around for a few minutes, before falling back to sleep.

Friday, she was great (still on painkillers etc).

Saturday morning she woke up HYSTERICALLY at 5.30am. She sounded like someone was trying to murder her. She was inconsolable.

Sunday morning, EXACTLY the same thing.

She seems fine when we put her in our bed and lying down during the day isnt a problem.

Could it be some kind of post-traumatic stress from the surgery? Or just a coincidence?
