I've just used Lucas pawpaw cream over the weekend & OMG does that stuff work. Thanks all for your suggestions. I had a real breakthrough with the curash powder - it stopped all the moistness, leaving us only slightly red and dry skin to deal with. So much better than damp and flaming red!! ahh maybe thats why things have been weird for us this past week. Phew such an ammonia smell all of a sudden and red botty, but stopped suddenly today. We've never had a problem with nappy rash until i used disposable liners for the first time when we went on holiday. Surf sensitive clogged up Jody's nappies really bad and she got rashy. Even though I only used a tiny amount and I rinsed them well.

Sometimes Jude's pee seems becomes a little more concentrated due to teething or food he has been eating and would get a bit of a rash. i had the best success with using curash nappy powder and it doesnt leave a residue.
sometimes using too little detergent might be a problem too...

I'm testing sudocreme tonight to see how it goes. Honeybunsma and Bizzy - thx, I'll try testing absorbancy tomorrow. I wondered if the liner might be the problem but without it I can't test sudocrem. Bizzy, I change her every three hours at the mo' (except at night) so very regularly. And I'm only using a tiny amount of detergent these days - cold wash not hot. If Cooper gets nappyrash I find sudocream overnight in a disposible gets rid of it straight away. So maybe use cloth during the day with no cream and no liners and then disposible with lots of cream at night?

if you always use a liner maybe it is the liner that is causing the problem. The microfleece will wick the moisture away under normal circumstances but maybe the liner is affecting it some how?

things to consider are how often are you changing her? is her pee more concentrated? is it the powder? Are you using too much of it?

I don't know about the weleda cream but is that possibly causing a layer on the nappy meaning it isn't absorbing as quickly?

Have you tried testing them to see if the water pools or wicks away?

Bepanthen and sudocream can be used with a liner I believe. Don't take that as gospel though!

Hi mamas, I'm feeling really disheartened - we've been off cloth for a few weeks (on holiday) and have just switched back. My little girl had no rash with posies but it's back with a vengence just two days in.

I've used fuzzibunz since birth and they had been great but she started getting a bit rashy around 6 months. I've been using Weleda nappy change cream but it's really not working. The rash/redness is everywhere. The problem seems to be wetness against her skin - shouldn't the microfleece be dry(ish) against her??

Things I've tried:
- tried changing disposable liner brands but that doesn't help.
- tried giving more nappy off time. Definitely helps but not enough.
- checked if diet related - but obviously not if clears with disposables.
- Tried changing wash routine. Now use cold rinse - hot wash with surf sensitive - cold rinse.

I have a hydrocortisone cream but don't want to use it. Am thinking it might be time to try bepanthen or sudocrem but don't want to ruin my nappies.

Any advice greatly appreciated!! It's so frustrating and it's hard to see her go through such discomfort.
