Author: mumma2s
Subject: 36570
Posted: 22 November 2010 at 12:06pm

Huge hugs to you.
Yes I have had this happen. I was in hospital for 3 days post c-section went home for one night and ended up back in hosp for a week while they sorted me out.
Was on morphine due to the pain (the pain was just the same as the day after the c-section when the pain killers wore off)
I was on IV antibiotics, fluids and somdething else.
I had to have a cat scan to work out what was causing all the pain and they found an Infected heamatoma the size of a toilet roll on my right hand side as well as fluid on my lungs and high temps for days. So lots of rest I was told not to move - that was easy as I could not without being in so much pain. It was a very slow and long recovery sleeping as much as I could. I think when Baby was 6 months I felt like it was easier to do things, but the infection was large so took a while to go down.
My suggestion is to seriously rest as much as possible and the antibiotics will help clear it up. I was on strong pain killers for months after and the usual panadol and voltarin (which is normal for post c-section) and this helped ease the pain making it easier to feed bubs as holding her to my tummy hurt far too much.

How long ago did you have the c-section? my MW spoke to the Dr who did the section and she readmitted me into the maternity ward so they could keep an eye on me.

I hope you have a faster and easier recovery. and they find a way to help you as the pain is so uncomfortable.

I've been in awful pain for the past 5 days or so, my midwife and I were trying to figure out what was wrong as my bowels have been playing up aswell and we thought it was possibly a UTI. I went to my GP on Friday and she said I have an infected heamatoma on my wound. She's given me a long course of augmentin but if anyone else has had this, how long did it take before you started feeling better? I'm struggling as I need to be at the hospital with DS but at the moment the only time I feel a little better is if i am lying down!

Edited by KH25
