Author: ArielAngel
Subject: 36696
Posted: 18 November 2010 at 11:01am

Gosh, I wish I'd found that list earlier this year!

I came up with a very similar list myself but also followed the following generic guidelines:

No bought biscuits, cakes, potato chips or breads (these are high in refined flour and/or sugar - a big no no! also often contain trans fats)
No deep fried food (most deep fried foods are high in trans fats - bad for you in general but also not good if you are trying to get pregnant)
Always full fat dairy (your body processes the protein in reduced fat products differently)
No caffeine
No alcohol
Eat organic where possible/affordable (some of the pesticides etc have a terrible effect on your hormones)

Also, because of the way that plastics can screw with your hormones (because of the xenoestrogens, or something like that) we replaced most of our plastic food storage containers with glass. We also stopped using plastic drink bottles.

I'm not saying that following the above was definitely the reason we got pregnant (we had only been doing it for seven weeks or so when we got our bfp), but at the very least I knew that I was being healthy and after trying for so long I was keen to do anything which might help even just a little bit!

Oh, and even though we had to buy some more expensive products (like the nuts) we actually saved money because we had to make our own cakes/biscuits/bread and we never went out!
