If she starts going to sleep straight away then you could start introducing a new item, maybe something that can be sucked/chewed so that it is similar to the bottle.<br />Or you could try the bottle fairy item and then the fairy gives her something else to take to bed.<br /><br />The trick would be to get her using a new sleep association which could be music, talking books, a toy etc etc<br /><br />Good luck]]>

We ended up writing a sparkley pretty letter to the dummy fairy, and putting it in the letterbox with the dummy for the fairy to take to a new little baby. She loved the sparkles, and she loved the idea of being involved with helping a little baby. Never had an issue again.<br /><br />Otherwise, good luck!! 3 year olds can be very very testing!! <img border="0" src="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/smileys/smiley4.gif" border="0"> ]]>

She's never had another comfort item but putting a doll/soft toy in with her hasn't been helping yet.<br /><br />We'll try the fan thing! Since giving it up it takes her 3 to 4 hours to go to sleep.<br /><br />I'm at wits end! It doesnt seem to make any difference if she has a nap in the day or not.<br /><br />How do we help her to get to sleep at a reasonable hour?
