I usually bake cake the week before and freeze it, wrapping it in several layers of glad wrap to prevent freezer burn. then get it out the day before when I ice it. Make sure you cut it to shape before you freeze it. A great tip I got was to put a thin layer of icing on the cake then leave it to dry for a few hours, this layer catches the cake crumbs. Then put a thinker layer on later when you decorate it

Could anyone offer advice on the following questions -

How far in advance can chocolate brownies be made and can this be reheated before serving?

Could mini cupcakes (yoghurt orange and lemon flavour) be baked without using cases as I the cases I brought won't fit in my silicon mini cupcake trays?

How far in advance could a basic melt and mix rainbow cake be made and also iced/decorated with butter icing and where/how should the decorated cake be stored?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks very much!

Edited by MyPeas
