Caro I only learned about this technique about a month ago and I was the 2nd mother the dr had tried it out on. He heard about it at an overseas convention not so long before. He was at an after hours clinic so when my regular doctor got the report, she asked and then educated all her associates about it. Finally getting a chance to catch my breath ... thanks for all your replies

Well, we managed to get it out without going to the doctor I'm not totally sure how but I think he might have sneezed and dislodged it enough for him to retrieve Came out intact with slime and bogies!!!

I am really surprised that Plunket didn't suggest the breathing in the mouth thing ... sounds way better than forcible removal at the doctors.

Anyway thanks for all your help. I *think* he might have learnt his lesson. He absolutely hates going to the doctors and now knows that a sticker up his nose means a trip to the GP!! We had to do this ^^^ for Sophie when she stuck a raisin up her nose last year. Mother's Kiss technique, you can easily do this at home. Lay him on his back or sit him up, block the ok nostril and blow into his mouth (like cpr) with short, sharp breaths. We recently had to do this to remove a plastic object from Kaela's nose. It took a while, as probably will the sticker, because of the air that can get past. But it's much kinder than medical technique.

Daniel recently stuck a carrot piece up there (mixed vege) and I couldn't get it out so we used a nasal rinse. DH held him tight while I did it and it came flying out. Anyone had any luck with removing it themselves?

Mr. Nearly 3 has got a sticker up his nose. I can easily see it but no way to reach it. It isn't bothering him overly, occasional sneezing and constant sticking of finger up there to remove it. Plunket suggested trying to teach him to blow and remove it that way but no joy there.
