The best washing powder that I have found is Rocking Green. It is specially made for nappies and Itti Bitti recommend it as the one to use on theirs.<br /><br />I do all of mine on a cold wash and just have it on the normal spin setting, and just up the rinse by one (as i can have anywhere from 2-5 rinses). I wouldnt think the spin would affect the nappies as you would have a full load in the machine so its not like its just one of two getting the full brunt of the spin. ]]>

Their front loader powder appears to be the same as the other one except comes with a small scoop and I can buy the other one in 4.5kg tubs so it works out cheaper as I've only seen the front loader one in 1kg boxes.]]>

I don't do a rinse cycle and use half usual amount of liquid, with vinegar in the rinse drawer.  <br /><br />I've never done a strip wash or hotter washes - the sun seems to deal with everything at the moment.  Sometimes I'll do an extra rinse at the end if I don't think all the detergent's rinsed out properly (depends on the size of the load and if I've been a little heavy handed!) ]]>

I totally didn't mean to confuse you even more....<br /><br />Definitely don't worry about stripping.<br /><br />Melnel is right that honeychilds have PUL but so do Itti Bittis. In fact most nappies (apart from some styles) have PUL in them, either visibly or hidden because they all need to be waterproof in the end.<br /><br />A few 60 degree washes won't do them any harm at all, especially if they might get a bit smelly or stained but constant 'hot' washes might put a strain on said PUL and shorten the life of the nappies.<br /><br />'Tschuldigung! <img border="0" src="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/smileys/smiley8.gif" border="0"> ]]>

You wont need to worry about that with the hire kit because weegee or becks will sort it I would imagine.<br /><br />I was mine on 40 delicate :) I always do a rinse cycle before and after the wash cycle too and maybe once every 2-3 weeks a 60 cotton wash.]]>

Mine goes up to 90 degrees but I think I read somewhere not to wash on 60 degrees or higher.]]>
