Well i'm just working on my stash, so there's not heaps in there at the moment :) but chucking in with other things...

okay will experiment around. need to get some rocking green too! as long as it's not too hot it should be okay.

I would not wash your nappies on a hot wash all the time as the PUL breaks down way faster as does the elastic. The best washing powder that I have found is Rocking Green. It is specially made for nappies and Itti Bitti recommend it as the one to use on theirs.

I do all of mine on a cold wash and just have it on the normal spin setting, and just up the rinse by one (as i can have anywhere from 2-5 rinses). I have itti's... so just trying to figure out what is best to wash them at.

We have a Bosch frontloader... so around 40 degrees is good - if there is a builup then 60degrees...

Does spin cycle matter? Ecostore do a wool wash liquid. I don't use ecostore cause I have ecobubs nappies, and the ecostore powder eats at the wool.

40 degree colours wash with extra rinse. If really horrid poos have occured then I will do them on 60 but that's not often (we can adjust temp up and down on our machine).
If I just have a couple of nappies with wees on then I do them on a quick wash.

BB if you use ecostore then you use half a scoop for a front loader and because with nappies you only need half the amount then you only need a quarter scoop for nappies.

Oh I didn't know that. I never got any instructions for ours ( el cheapos off TM) Will make it the cooler wash now

40 degree cotton wash here for our nappies in the front loader. I don't do a rinse cycle and use half usual amount of liquid, with vinegar in the rinse drawer.

I've never done a strip wash or hotter washes - the sun seems to deal with everything at the moment. Sorry to threadjack., but you know front loader powder, I have a top loader and bought front loader powder by mistake, I've just been 1.5 the scops and using it anyway.
Buuuut, would front loader powder work as 'using half strength' for washing nappies???

Definitely don't worry about stripping.

Melnel is right that honeychilds have PUL but so do Itti Bittis. In fact most nappies (apart from some styles) have PUL in them, either visibly or hidden because they all need to be waterproof in the end.

A few 60 degree washes won't do them any harm at all, especially if they might get a bit smelly or stained but constant 'hot' washes might put a strain on said PUL and shorten the life of the nappies.

Susyl the nappies like the honeychilds are PUL, the nappies like Itti's are minky :)

Stripping is needed from time to time when they get smelly or a build of washing powder etc and start leaking. You wont need to worry about that with the hire kit because weegee or becks will sort it I would imagine.
