I recieved my Manduca on Friday.

I LOVE it, and I got it on special :D So ended up getting the limited edition for $224 and got to pay it on layby too!

Basicly, super easy to get the hang of and put on, can use back carry, and with very little practice managed to get DD securely in by myself.

Easy to wash! So if you are going for long walks and get back sweaty you can chuck through the wash easy as.

Holds bubs really securely and almost makes her feel light :D (that is on back, I find front is always heavy but I only have a 9kg 1 yr old atm) will get back to you when my new baby arrives :D

And looks stylish into the bargain! I too debated the ergo and manduca - got the manduca and it rocks so hard. Its been an absolute lifesaver. The only downside is that it draws old woman like moths to a flame. Just bumping - we got our Manduca a week or so ago, thinking it would be good for #2. DD, however, LOVES it!!! She brings it to me saying "piggy back please mum" and fell asleep in it today at the supermarket. I've just been trialling both myself, and am now trying the Ergo performance. It's much lighter weight than both the Manduca and the standard Ergo, and because of that is so much more comfortable for both myself and DS in this heat.

I am rather small and the manduca fits me well, there is still about an inch of maneuverability in the waist strap.


I my Manduca. I have a few carriers now and this is always the first one I reach for. It is so comfy, so adjustable and I love that it has an extendable back.
I can wear it for hours at a time and DS and I are both happy.
My SIL has borrowed it for a couple of days to try out with her 4yo son and loves it too. My DH tried both the ergo and manduca and much preferred the manduca for comfort. I tried the ergo on but it was a smidgen too tight to do up. I love the manduca for the versatility of fit, fits me, a larger shorty, and DH, a skinny tall person with easy adjustments. Super comfy too.

I also like the pocket on the ergo...big enough for keys, wallet, a nappy (sposie) and wipes. So, on those quick runs there was no need to take another bag with me.

I adore my Manduca.
I did have an Ergo as well and loved that but decided to upgrade to a Manduca because it has a longer waist strap, which is great for larger people and meant I could use it during my whole pregnancy without needing to buy another piece to make the waist strap longer. It also sits more comfortably on my hips and tummy than the Ergo did.

The shoulder straps also have two different points of adjustment instead of just one, which when changing between my husband and I is very handy and means it fits better. You can also comfortably cross the straps over on your back to get a better fit.

The waist buckle and chest buckles have a lifetime replacement gaurantee, which is very handy if you're like me and forget to make sure it isn't hanging out the door of the car before shutting it lol
I love that it already has the infant insert included and attached so I dint have to buy anything extra or worry about having to keep track of it like with the Ergo's insert.
I love that the Manduca has an adjustable back, which means I can still carry my 2.5 year old in it comfortably.
It is already made with Organic fabrics, and I didn't have to pay a fair bit extra to get Organic.

I also found that the Manduca feels lighter than my Ergo did when I had it around my waist without a baby in it.

I've had both, and ended up selling my Ergo to fund my Manduca. IME the Manduca does hold them up higher and more firmly in to your body, as there are more points for adjustability on the shoulder straps as well as the extendable body panel. It also has the built in newborn harness which the Ergo doesn't have. I like the Ergo colours better (), but the manduca seems to hold bubs up a bit higher on the body which I think looks more comfy. Really, for one trip, either will do the job nicely. It's the day-to-day use that you'll give it you really want to think about! I only have a manduca and I love it. I had a nosy at both before I chose and it was more my style than the ergo but they do the same thing. I have only just got my manduca. But I have a friend with a 14 month old who has done A LOT of overseas longhaul travel with baby in the ERGO, from when she was very little and loves it! We are expecting our first child in March and all being well we are hoping to head home to the UK to see our family in July/August.

I plan to use a baby carrier for the flghts/airports and cant decide between these.
