lol arent they funny at times!!!  Mine is like NZPipers, ignores me alot of the time  I would just keep at it, she will get it eventually esp if you are correcting her when she says it

I have a similar problem and my DD is the same age as yours, she is very very polite but I made the mistake of saying 'you heard me' a few times when she asked me the same question over and over. Now if I ask her to repeat herself she'll say 'you heard me'... guess I was asking for it!!? No idea what to do about it, drives me nuts...

The other one we have, again my fault is 'aye', such as 'this is cool aye', drives my DH mad as he is australian and they don't say that .. The best thing I have learnt is not to keep correcting them over & over again. You just need to say the right word once when you talk back to them & not to tell them they are wrong. They are only young & will learn eventually :)

For example, my 4 year old use to pronounce the word 'chicken' as 'schicken'. He would ask me 'Mummy, can we have 'schicken' for tea?' I would answer him back with 'Sure son, mummy will make you 'chicken' for tea'.

LOL, I have no advice as I havent encountered that....yet, but Caden started saying "Mummy Mummy, oi! oi! Mummy!" - Oops, we say oi a lot to try get his attention, so I must stop saying it. When he does say it though I ignore him until he just says "mummy" without the oi!

LOL, welcome to my world!! Except my DD says 'Uh?' not 'Huh?'. I initially blamed it on an international homestay student we had, but recently discovered that my DH says the same thing!

We use a similar approach to you with ignoring and correcting. Sorry, just couldnt resist it....at least Hannah acknowledges you speaking...mine just ignore me although a few times I noticed T saying to me "Mummy! Mummy! yoohoo! Mummy" and waving his hands in front of me...oops....I must do that to him.

I think what you are doing is all you can do. Ever since Hannah's been able to converse with us she's always responded to something she doesn't understand/hear with a resounding "Huh?".
Every time she says it I correct her and explain she has to say "Pardon?" instead which she'll then say.

However, she only says it that once and reverts back to "Huh?".
I ignore her if she says it now, only to be met with "Huh? What?! What Mummy?"
I have told her and told her to say "Pardon?" but she just won't.
What do I do? It drives me nuts.
In every other way she's polite. Says please and thank you and is generally very well behaved, but this just really grinds my gears.
