my daughter was just over 2 when she was day trained was still wearing a nappy at night but it got to a point where she was going int he nappy 5-10 minutesr after it was put on her despite her going toilet just prior.

My DS has been TT for about 3 months now, and he is 3 in June, he is mostly dry in the mornings(wears a pull up to bed) but the night we had him in undies he woke up wet, so we are waiting a bit longer until we know he is dry in the morning. Thanks for the replies.
He's never dry in the mornings.
So i think i will wait unitl he is dry.
But i will ask him to go to the toilet when he wakes, so i know he's not holding it and going in his nappy when he wakes.
I won't rush as as it is so different to day training he got day tt so fast.

I was going to say exactly what Bizzy said about the chemical in the brain. Best advice is to just wait

When DS day trained we started telling him at night that if he needed to do wee's to wake me up and I would take him to the toilet. Sometimes he would wake me up and we'd go to the toilet and then he would still be in a sopping nappy in the morning but he got there pretty quickly. We also took him to the toilet last thing at night and first thing in the morning too. Don't know if this contributed to him training but he was dry at night a couple of months after he day trained. I have heard from friends that they sometimes take their child to the toilet just before they went to bed to let them do a wee. Have never tried this so don't know how practical that is.

night TT is very different than day as they need to produce a chemical in their brain that stops their bodies from producing urine overnight. Ella was day TT by 2y3m and still isn't night time TT yet. Every now and then she has a random dry night, but then the next night wakes up with a full pull up. We have tried a couple of times waking her before we go to bed but have had mixed results- some nights she is too sleepy to get up.

I'd wait till he's dry at night too before starting. My DD is only just over two and was dry at night for the whole week last week (has been toilet trained during day since 22months). So we asked her if she wanted to wear nappies or knickers to bed. She said knickers, which went well for two nights but then next night she wet the bed and got really upset so has asked to wear nappies again every night. Which is fine by me as she's still so little! Is he waking up dry? Thats probably the biggest indicatior hes ready. You could try popping him on the toilet just before you go to bed too.

just wondering when, what age did everyoe night train?
Ds1 has been TT since around 2yr 9 months but i haven't night trained him.
he's a really deep sleeper and am just not sure when to do it.
He's just turned 4 so though now would be a good time.
