what others have said - a microfibre closest to baby (inside a pocket so no contact) and a double layer bamboo/hemp trifold behind. You really need to add a hemp or bamboo under the microfibre to add absorbency. Microfibre tends to squish when it's wet then leak under compression (like a soaked sponge). Add a hemp or bamboo underneath locks in the fluid and adds more absorption
Microfibre doesn't increase in absorbency the more it's washed - hemp & bamboo do (they need to be washed a few times to reach maximum absobency).

Have used bamboo, hemp and microfibre.

I second microfibre - it is so much quicker to dry than hemp/cotton/bamboo. microfibre dry fast, you can get them cheap off trade me.
