I would prob half it (since thats waht you normally do with FL and the amount of detergent you use) Weve just got a FL so havnt stripped it in yet.
If you think the pockets smell too (or have got nappy cream etc on it) then yeah chuck them in, I think I would actually do them seperately as then you can hot wash the inners and warm wash the outers (since the PUL doesnt like te heat (although im sure a one off wouldnt be too bad?)) How do you do it in a front loader? How much soapy liquid i mean? Emmi is that in a top loader? I think I need to do a strip wash but I have a front loader so that might not work

Also do you do a strip wash on the pockets as well? I have stripped my nappies (ittis) by doing the 1/4 C of dishwashing liquid on a warm/hot wash and then rinses till no more soap bubbles. Yup do a couple of strip washes, they need them periodically- about every 6 months or so. Sounds like they need a strip wash. There are a number of different ways to do them but your best bet is probably to get a sample of Rockin' Green and follow the instructions on the pack to soak the nappies and remove the buildup causing the smell...you might need to do it a couple of times but it really works. Tweedle have the sample packs on special for $3.15 at the moment - Rockin' Green samples

ETA: You might want to do a search for strip wash in the cloth nappy thread to bring up the other methods too if you don't want to have to buy anything new...

Hiya, have been using my nappies for 2 years now (1st and 2nd bub) and all of a sudden they have started smelling terrible! Haven't changed how I wash them, so not sure what the deal is. Have tired giving them a deal to in the washing machine, one wash with table spoon of pwdr, then a hot wash, and another cold wash. Not sure what else to try. Any ideas ladies?
