I actually found the test itself not too bad, of course it's not nice laying there with your feet up and stuff, but the pain was not too bad for me. I hope the same for you! And I hope your results are better as well! Hi,

Just a piece of advise for your hsg, please take a support person. I didn't take anyone, because i wasn't scared about the pain or discomfort at all, and it wasn't too bad really anyway. But i didn't realise that they give you the results straight away... In my case this wasn't very good news, and i had a major melt down, all in front of this doctor that didn't really know what to do... If i had known that the results would be given straight away i would've taken my partner along. Now i had to walk out of hospital crying my eyes out trying to talk to him on the phone, not pleasant. So please take someone.

You can have two - but if the first round is successful then you don't qualify for a second round. Private is around 10k... Depends on what protocol you end doing ie how many days you need to have hormone injections, plus costs more if you need Icsi procedure too that's where they inject the sperm right into the egg.

I think you can have 2 public ivf cycles in NZ?
