She was up ready to go at 5am every morning for about a month.

Happy to say it was a phase and passed - we are back to around 6.30-7.00am wakings. I'm sure things will go back to a more normal waking time for you too!! :-)

Edited by Millyz

This means he gets to about 6 in the morning. If he goes down before about 7:30 at night he gets up before 6, bright eyed and bushy tailed. It has been going for a couple of weeks. He used to sleep from 7:30 to about 6:45 but that is a thing of the past. We have tried everything to convince him to sleep later but nothing helps.
I don't have advice sorry.

After a good few months of 5am starts DS has started to sleep until 6am. Which is not perfect but so much better than 5am! I feel like I tried everything as well and nothing made a difference. When I asked the plunket nurse about it she said that it is quite common around this age. Unfortunately I found there was no magic solution but just had to wait for the phase to pass. And it seemed like a long phase too at times! Sorry no solutions from me but I feel your pain.

It didn't seem to matter what I did or didn't do, she didn't sleep any longer in the morning at all. It turned out to be just a phase and she now has a much more normal waking time of about 6.30am. I just coped by going to bed earlier and (when I had to) snoozing on the couch while she watched half an hour of TV in the morning on the weekends.

When I hear him, I get up and get ready, so he's left to amuse himself for about 20mins, but after that he starts shouting. He's super duper hungry in the mornings, so it could be a growth spurt phase I guess

Although mmoo, you may not have that prob with an internal room. Do they wake up upset? Could you leave them maybe half an hour and then go in? Even if they are happy talking etc they may just get the idea that its not quite time to start the day, and then stretch it out over a week until you're up at a time you find reasonable?

Not quite as bad. I think we had a few 5.30am starts and then it moved to 6am for a few weeks. This morning he woke and was ready to start the day at 4:50am!!!!! Seriously?!?! He's been doing this all week (waking at around 5am). He goes to bed at around 7pm (sometimes 6:30pm, sometimes 7:30pm) and he naps for about 1.5 hours during the day.

I've tried giving him a bottle, bringing him to bed with us, leaving him for 10mins but nothing seems to work.

I'm hoping this is a phase and he'll sleep in till at least 5:30am or 6 again??? Eeeccckk - can anyone help?
