Not that I've ever asked Mum specifically (well, you wouldn't, would you!) but she's never mentioned that it didn't. It was the c-sections she had that did the damage to her (not that she's complaining, they were necessary).<br /><br />Out of interest, Mum had four natural births, and she says my 12lb 6oz brother was the easiest! He was her fourth, which probably helped, but there you go.]]>

I don't believe my son was too big for me to birth, he was just in a really crap position but I feel the c-section was a good call to make. <br /><br />My chances are getting slimmer by the day though as I am now "overdue" and my elective date is looming....]]>

My cousin is a large-boned pakeha chap, and his wife is a tiny Phillipino lady, and I'm pretty sure she was told that the babies head circumference was just too big to fit out her pelvis...]]>

They had estimated her weight at well over 11lb the day before she was born and told me a VBAC wasn't an option. However, I did have a great birth and she did everything perfect despite me being stuck on my back the whole time (epi was a requirement for the trial of labour). So yep, it can definitely be done. Wasnt there a woman in the UK that had a 14lb baby recently or something? <br /><br />edit: The heaviest baby at birth, according to the Guinness book of world records, weighed 23.12lb (10.8kg) and died 11 hours after birth. The baby was born to Anna Bates who lived in Canada in 1879. After seeing a chiro i went on to birth a 9lber, 8lbs 7oz, 8lbs 10oz and my giant 9lbs 12oz.]]>

(big flaw in there somewhere!) I am not tall (163cm), I dont put 100% trust in scans on weight estimates (even tho DD was 30gm off her estimate!), I do believe that DDs poor position was a major factor in the failed induction/c section, and am/will do all I can to make sure this one is in a better position <img border="0" src="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0"> <br />Hmm I wonder if I can find some birth stories for you (if you want them?)]]>

My aunty had a 10lb 10 with c-sect then went on to have a 10lb 13oz VBAC home birth with no issues. Just keep telling your self that your body knows what to do. Keep moving throught labour and try not to be checked very often (if at all). Forget the fetal monitor as they are just a pain and go with the flow. My DS was 9lb 6oz and c-section for obstructed labour as he was also posterior with head de-flexed. I'm due any day now with #2 and have just had another scan which estimates this baby to be much the same size (although I know size estimates at this gestation as notoriously unreliable) however this baby is in a better position. Please tell me it can be done! lol]]>
