Yes, ours is installed in a 97 legacy wagon & its really solid.

SUCCESS!!!

In case anyone is considering a radian in a late model subaru, the trick is to position the plastic boot under the isofix mounts as this is the squishyist part of the seat (the doorside one works best) then push the seat forward as you pull the seat belt tight to get as upright a install as possible. I've also attached the tether (it just doesn't seem right to not in my mind no matter what the manual says about it being ok!)

Happy to report I can now drive without my preg belly touching the steering wheel. In fact it only takes up a bit more room than the Brio I currently use, which surprised me.

The real test will be if DH can drive. can't put it in the middle in this model as the seat is sculpted funny! Oh well I'll be giving it another go once the monkey is asleep..

If you cant get the latch to work then just use the seatbelt. It has been safety tested either way and I dont think one is signifigantly more safer than the other. You should be able to get it in with a belt so the seat doesnt move if you shove it hard. Ours is a 2003, I can install it with the seatbelt and tether but the latch is useless.

We could only get it installed in the middle using the lap belt in our '98 Subaru Legacy Wagon. There was no way it could be installed safely on the outboard seats.

From what I have read on the internet - no body else has managed to get to install safely on the outboard seats in older model Legacy'either. Sorry! Anyone out there got there radian xtsl installed in a subaru wagon. We've had a couple of goes but its really really loose.

So if you have it in a subaru wagon any tips? Are you using latch or seatbelts to install.
