Thanks Babykatnz - yep 20 months has gone super fast!!!
And in that time you have another one who is 6 months old WOW!

I am determined to try and not have the interventions this time around.
I will check out the other thread and see if I can find a midwife who is willing to support me.
For my last pregnancy I just used the midwives at Botany, and the hospital ones when induced... I think that the stats are pretty good - around 70% of VBA2C mothers who attempt it are successful.

There is heaps of research on the internet. One of the mums in my March 2011 group managed to have her much wanted VBA2C's, was very touch and go, but she managed to get him out just in the nick of time (they were trying to prep her for c-section but she dug her heels in and said not yet)

You would need to find an ob or midwife prepared to allow the attempt, I would go so far as to say that c/s #1 was so long ago that it wouldnt really 'count' in the VB vs c/s debate... you could set parameters in place, no inductions (to allow your body to go into labour when ready, rather than trying to force it when not ready) X hours after established labour before any intervention allowed (although you wont be able to get away from the monitoring, they can do on/off as opposed to constant monitoring)

Theres a VBAC thread in this section that might help give you some stats/questions to arm yourself with when you have your appt with ob/midwife when the time comes

maybe you should talk to your GP and get him/her to refer you to your OB about this as it would depend on your personal obstetric history and they would be the best people to advise you IMO. Even a private consult with a OB is only $70 so that may be the quicker option?

Ive had a VB and CS, and for me I am having 3rd bubba in a month by elective CS. VB's arnt for everyone but I have heard on the chat rooms that some others have had a vaginal birth after 2 c/section births. Hi Ladies

DP & I are TTC #2 for us (#3 for me)
Both my previous pregnancies resulted in C-sections, first one elective in 1995 due to a lot of errors etc, no danger to myself or baby. 2nd one in 2010 an emergency after being induced, in labour for 16 hours and not dilating past 1cm Baby never went into stress and I was comfortable, but they made the call to go ahead with it.

Anyway I guess my question is - what do you think my chances would be of having a VB after the two previous sections??
I would think there will be about 2.5 to 3 years between sections (all going to plan) - do you think they would let me try for a VBA2C or not....
I really really want to have a VB but obviously dont want to put myself or my baby at risk at any time either????
