No more 6am-7am screaming & she seems much happier. Feel like I finally have things under control now

His father or I would oblige and drag ourselves down to watch mind numbing cartoons We soon realised that he always expected the TV to be turned on for him. When he woke too early we would get up but not turn on cartoons like he was hoping. We explained that waking up before the sun meant that we were coming to the lounge to watch Breakfast or C4 and he would have to play with his toys for entertainment. Seemed to work after a week or two and soon went back to his 7 - 7.30am wake time.

The past few days my DD who has been an awesome sleeper has been waking about 6am instead of 7am. So tonight I am going to try putting her to bed at 6:30pm instead of 7pm and see if that helps.

Some of the other suggestions are, moving the day time nap back by 20 minutes every few days, and also diet if their nutritional needs aren't being met. Or they may be cold.

Too much day sleep can also be another cause - but if he is sleeping two hours then that doesn't sound like too much. If he is taking a little while to fall alseep at nap time then maybe push it out a bit.

Good luck.

I am obsessed with making sure the room is totally pitch black; if it's not, my 9-month-old WILL start waking earlier... DH says "but the room is dark" but I insist on putting dark sheets over the blackout blinds (you think that's bad - I have friends who have pinned duvets or cardboard over the windows) and then she goes back to sleeping until we go in (at about 7.15am). This has happened a few times lately, as the days get longer. Also, Recently we had my dad sleeping in her room and she started waking earlier and earlier then, I think she is really sensitive to noise and light from 4am onwards.
