How much does school uniforms cost then at other schools? I much prefer a uniform and our school is not that expensive. $20 for a thick sweatshirt top for winter. Good quality polo shirts for $25 I think. (only need like one or two as they dry so quickly and still look almost brand new a year into it). Shoes is whatever and then any black bottoms (skirt or pants etc).

It definately cost me cheaper to sent her in a uniform. And no problems with getting out of them. She knows as soon as she gets home get changed.

Must say too that Gabriel used to atend a school with a uniform and i prefer no uniform. No fights about getting changed after school, no worries about losing expensive uniform jumpers, no fancy school shoes to get lost...

when Toby first started school i sent spare clothes and a plastic bag. Raincoat only if it looks like rain. I have always let A chose her own clothes for school, I do guide her in weather options though as often she wants to wear something too cold or too hot!

Thanks, I was wondering about the getting dirty thing too- every item she ever wore to daycare has permanent paint marks! Ashleigh doesn't have a uniform. I don't have any set clothes for her, she just wears whatever but I make sure it is appropriate ie. depending on what activities they have on that day. She definately doesn't get as grubby as when at kindy so I'm not too worried about what she wears. She does take a change of clothes in her bag but not a raincoat. How do u manage with your child at a school without a uniform? Do u have just a few sets of clothes as a sort of uniform, or let them wear whatever? We have ongoing issues wth Isla crying that her clothes are itchy/ uncoomfortable, it can happen when she gets dressed or she will have a melt down about it at any time in the day. Worried how we gonna cope when she starts school. Do u send spare clothes in their bag? Do u keep a raincoat in their bag?
