We have a Charlie Bannana one. And yes, I can tell you they hold the poo provided they fit properly.

Our pool actually sells reusable swim nappies so they obviously think they're okay. I've also seen several code brown's from disposable swim nappies that aren't put on properly anyway. I have just got a tots bots one, they look really good! We've also been using a Monkey Doodlez swim nappy from 6months with DS, although so far he has never tested it with poos.
I think there are a few threads in the Cloth Nappy Section, you could do a search.

Lots of swim centres prefer you not to use swim nappies as if there is a poo incident they like to know about it so they can deal with it.
