She grew out of it. But we never had a prob with it causing a mess- not sure how to handle that one, maybe exaggerate how lucky we are not to have to stand up,..arent we sooo lucky we get to sit down on the loo, mabe stick a cool poster or something on the back of the door!

    Author: Shelt
Subject: 41384
Posted: 22 January 2012 at 7:14pm

My DD (who has been TT since this time last year) seems to be having trouble grasping the whole "girls pee sitting down, boys pee standing up" thing.

She's fully TT so I don't have a problem with her having accidents. But she goes through phases where she seems to think she should pee standing up and the wee goes all over the bathroom floor (as you would expect!). She will be fine for a week or two and then have another go at it. I have repeatedly told her (usually in my angry voice after she tells me what she has done) that boys have penises and pee standing up and girls have vaginas and pee sitting down. She usually just says oh ok and then doesn't do it again for a week or two. And then for no real reason she goes and tries again. She's not bothered by it and I have tried to ignore it but I am getting a bit sick of cleaning the bathroom floor and I just wondered if anyone had any bright ideas? She just lives with me (her dad and I are divorced) but she does see her Dad 3 days a week. I don't think he lets her in the bathroom when he is going but she goes to daycare though where she probably sees boys peeing standing up. I don't think it an attention thing and she normally helps me clean it up. Sometimes I get angry and sometimes not. We have the same converation repeatedly and she knows she should sit down. Maybe it just looks like more fun to stand up?
