My sister-in-law has said to try to stop it by not giving her attention for what she is screaming about -e.g. walk away. But also physically show that you don't like the noise. I'm trying it out - bit of an experiment really. The hard thing is to be consistent...so I'll give it a couple of weeks and let you know how it goes :) so far it's lessened. I've been telling her that it's not a nice noise and covering my ears with a sad face on.

If she's screaming because she is not getting her own way I do the above and then say I'm not going to listen to you until you use your words - she is only 2.5 I'm not expecting miracles :) but holding out hope :) he he

I'm pregnant with no.2 now (only 8 weeks) so really tired now, it's hard to keep up the motivation and energy to do anything at the moment - and remember to :) (preggy brain) but trying :)

My daughter screams so, so loudly - ignoring her doesn't make a difference. It can be when she is happy but is mainly when she is annoyed or tired. A friend suggested time out, but I feel that 18 months old is too early for time out, and I don't feel that it needs 'punishment.'

We are going for the ignoring approach which stops it but hasn't stopped him doing it again and again! It is getting to us a bit. Any ideas from others who have experienced it? From experience with our DS, the more you try to stop him doing something the funner the game becomes for him.
