Hi Frankie,

I recently done an IUI and requested to go clomid free as the cycle before I was on 25mgs day 3 - 7 and I responded with 3 dominate follicles therefor they canceled the cycle as the risk of multiple pregnancy was too high.
This time I said I didnt want to be on clomid they said NO, I have to go on it because they want 2 follicles to up my chance or pregnancy! So I negotiated with them and the outcome I was put on a micro dose of 25mgs (half a tab) for 2 days only ( day 3 & 4 )
This was CHCH FA and I do ovulate on my own. I didnt need to have the trigger injection either

They kept saying to me they want to see 2 dominate follicles but Im sure the would not cancel if you only had one! rather strange to me!!

I would ring and have a chat to the nurses and see what they say

Thanks for your responses ladies, Choco - congratulations on your little girl! just out of interest, how much were your unmedicated IUI cycles? I'm still BF my first who is now 15 months, hence I'm interested in going down the unmedicated route, we did medicated IUI with her and conceived first round so think there is something to it for us

Hi Frankie,

I had one round unmedicated, and 2 with clomid, and 1 with injectibles. None were successful so I am now starting IVF, so I wouldn't read anything in to my results for you. I guess it depends what the issue is - with me they thought it was just scar tissue, so did natural to start, ideally that would have worked, but after one BFN they moved to drugs to give everything the best shot possible. All completed rounds on drugs had a decent chance of multiples, including one round that got pulled, and that is what they will be trying to avoid with natural.
