Many modern games require expensive hardware to function properly. This is sometimes inconvenient. I cannot update my laptop often. This is a waste for my family. Hi - I'm after a new laptop, budget around $1000. Have done a search but all the info is a bit old.

Can anyone recommend a good laptop for basic stuff? internet, email, Microsoft Office, storage...
