Hello Everyone,

I'm new here, so bear with me as I'm still learning the abbreviations. I just turned 35 and I already have 3 children through a previous marraige, my youngest being 6, so it's been a while since I've went through any of this and this is the first "planned" pregnancy I've had. Turns out, you can't really "plan" too much if your body doesn't want to cooperate.

Okay, I had some issues with my cycle at the beginning of the year but my SO was still deployed so I didn't really worry too much about it. I spoke with my doctor and she put me on a very low dose of BC to regulate my periods. In March I stopped taking the BC and all seemed to be well. In April I had my yearly and my doctor removed a small polyp from my cervix. I spotted for almost 5 days after that. My SO came home at the end of April. My cycle the following month started 2 days late (within reason for me). I didn't think much of it. The following month I had all the symptoms of my cycle starting on time and then about a day before I was sue to start ALL of my symptoms stopped. I only became more confused once my period didn't start on time, then not even 2 days after. 7 days past my normal "start date", I finally started spotting. It was a little light at first and then fairly normal and lasted the normal time.

This brings me to now. I have no idea what is within "normal range" for my ovulation at this point due to my last cycle being so late so based off my last cycle I would have ovulated 6 days ago. Base on my "regular" timing, I would have ovulated about a week earlier. To my surprise, I started spotting only when I wiped (as if I were going to start my cycle) 4 days ago, which is 11 days before my cycle is due to start based on my last start date. If I base it off my normal range and if I hadnt been late the month prior then that was have meant that I was spotting 4 days prior to my start date. Later that night my stomach felt like it was pulling from the inside (almost like Braxton hicks). The next day I still had faint spotting. I ended up going to the Doctor because I just didn't feel well. Nauseated, my mood was HORRIBLE the whole week prior), my right side was very tender and my lower back felt like someone had hit me with a 2x4. They did an ultrasound and it showed a very thick endometrial lining and the slightest bit of fluid. I was told that either I had very recently ovulated or I had a cyst rupture on my ovary. The chance of being pregnant however, was still there and that if I didn't start my period in the next week and a half then it could very well be pregnancy.

So, here we are, day 4 of spotting, only when I wipe (first day creamy pink, second day a little more reddish pink, third day was a little more brownish and today more like a pastel pink. It's normally only a few times through the day and only when I wipe. I've taken a test but its too early for either test to be accurate so I'm doing myself no justice there. According to charting, I should be able to get a positive in 3/4 days if I conceived based on my normal cycle, if not, it'll be closer to 10 days.

If you have made it through this novel, thank you. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Irregular period followed by a pregnancy that lines up with the original cycle? and symptoms literally starting a few days prior to spotting? I remember feeling "sick" in the early stages of my last pregnancy which lines up with how I have felt the last week. Here are my current symptoms... Light Spotting, Horrible mood swings (I'm irritating myself with those), cramping here and there, nausea, everyday around the same time, and holy hell I'm tired. I've been sleeping soooo much and I still feel tired as soon as I get up and I feel HOT. No fever but my body constantly feels hot all the time. My SO has even asked if I felt okay lately because I was hot to lay next to.

If you haven't noticed I am knee deep in "overthinking" and I know they say don't stress it but as I'm sure most of you know, it's difficult not to.

I've never been a part of one of these forums but I really think it's going to be good for me. Here's to hoping I see a Positive test soon but in the mean time, Anyone else having the same or similar issues?

Hi lurkers! It’s been awhile since this thread was active, though I was on here when I was TTC my first and found it great! So hopefully someone will be hanging about :)
We’ve just started actively trying to conceive number 2. It took awhile to conceive my daughter. We haven’t been preventing since May but no luck! Started actively trying this month and used OPKs and the SMEP plan. Today is O day, so tomorrow begins the TWW!

babyb it sounds like we both O'ed on cd17 this cycle! I'm 5dpo today I think. I am terrible at symptom spotting, try to keep busy to keep my mind off it but how can you not?! I would keep trying over xmas - just fill your wine glass with sparkling apple juice or something that looks like wine haha, no one needs to know :P

Bubbalove, I'm using Ovia but still getting the hang of things so unsure if it is working as it's supposed to yet (I think it takes a few months to learn your 'norm' or at least I'm hoping it learns because I definitely don't know what's up with my body)... did you end up putting CD17 as your OV day? If so, what day are you now? Good luck for your TWW!

Sandme, what were the results of your latest tests? What day are you now? I'm CD22 today and I am either 5DPO or 8DPO (I think 5DPO though). I am having major issues with symptom spotting which I swore I wouldn't do! I wish you could tell straight away if you were UTD or not and therefore avoid this whole TWW business! Anyway, am wondering whether it is worth doing this over December because I would be in the TWW for both Christmas and NYs and it would be super hard to keep family from assuming I was pregnant with not drinking and all. Then again, I can't imagine actually not trying for a month simply because of what people might think... I wish i could share the pics on here for u bubbalove. Its been spikey. No consistant temp dip then consecutive rise. Havent been bding at all. Havent been feeling well lately and been really tired. Waiting for af and i will go to doc and ask for clomid. Its on a script apparently.

so your temp has risen after cd26? That means you should get a clear result from your test tomorrow as it sounds like you O'ed. Have you still been bd'ing?? Since the metformin isn't working the best for you, I'm sure you can insist on clomid. Is that over the counter or do you still need a script?

I was so thrown off this cycle that I assumed cd15 would be OD, but then I got an even stronger line the next day (but still not +opk), so now I think yesterday was OD (CD17). Either way we BD a LOT in the last 4 days, I think that's it for us now but still not sure if I've O'ed lol. Did a sneaky temp the last couple days, was really low yesterday but up today so going by that (I know, not very accurate when I haven't been temping before that haha) then yesterday was def OD.

How is your temping going babyb? Bubbalove i am getting more bloods on tue. Levels being 17 is possible ovulation. Ff predicted ov to have been cd 25 going by my temps so it may have too early for bloods. Will be interesting to see. How you getting on? Have you had a pos opk yet? Fingers crossed for you!!

Babyb how you doing?? Where are you at with everything? sandme that's no good, but also good that your'e getting some answers. Will they do another blood test to check for O again in a few days? If your cycles are usually up to 45 days then you might still O anywhere up to cd 30 or 31.

babyb which app are you using? I use fertility friend even now that I'm not temping anymore, but it's still useful to keep track of things. What day of your cycle are you at? I'm cd15 and still haven't O'ed yet - getting some verrrry faint lines on my opks since last night, so hoping for a +opk today or tomorrow. And only getting ewcm since last night too, my body's been confusing me lately! I'm really sorry Sandme - that sucks about your results but fingers crossed they put you on Clomid and it works first time. Is it something you can just opt into taking or do the doctors need to approve you for it first?

My app changed my OV to yesterday but I think it might change later on in the month as I don't think I have OVd yet in hindsight.

Bbt charting isnt able to predict ov during the course of the cycle until after usually. Only once its complete and you can see the big picture i find. It can vary so much day to day. I know mine does! Keep going atleast you can see a good picture of it all.

Got results back today. No ovulation detected. More bloods next week. AFM, I'm not sure where I'm at as my temp results are a bit wacky so unsure if I can rely on them or not. Just tried twice to upload and i keep getting an error msg. Still tracking temp. It pinpointed my ov to cd 23. I only bd cd 22 and havent since. Im cd 28 today. I had almost pos opks cd20-21 so who knows if its correct. I had bloods today for progesterone to check if i have ovulated and if not im going to ask for clomid.

How are you doing Sandme and Bubbalove?! And hi Baby18 =) Things have been going smoothly for me with baby, be 19 weeks this week and seeing the midwife again on Tuesday. Yeah we got to hear baby's heartbeat last time Bubba =) I never did find the iced tea anywhere, think NZ stopped importing it form the States lol

Trying to organise for our girls 5th birthday in a few weeks and then it will be xmas and the summer holidays before we know it. 

Hopefully this Oh Baby forum login has stopped playing up, hope yal are doing good and to read a catch-up soon, still keeping my fingers crossed for you ladies!!

Hey babyb im 27 too. Partner is 34. I was exactly the same. As soon as we offically decided it didnt seem real lol. Glad you and bubbalove are around the same cd. How cool! Im cd 22 today i think. Neg opk today. Pos were either cd 20 or 21 or neither haha. Had temp dip the other day and now its rising. Who knows with my body seriously.

Bubbalove lovely to hear from you but wish you had better news. Sorry to hear af arrives! Random that your period keeps getting shorter. Are you on any meds or is there any reason why it could happen? Other than age haha.

Hey girls,

Sandme, I'm almost 27, so still quite young but have been basically counting down to the right time for a couple of years now so kind of feels weird to actually be trying? Sounds like you've got your BD covered, really hoping this is it for you FX

Bubbalove, thanks :) it feels so nice to have somewhere to voice all the crazy. Looks like we are almost at the same stage - CD8 for me today. Time is already so slow - counting down to OV, can't imagine what my first TWW will be like.

I'm still here sandme :( cd6 for me today. I've noticed over the last few months my period has been getting shorter and shorter - pretty much stopped yesterday already so that's only 4 or 5 days, whereas it used to be 6-7 days. I read that can happen as you get older. Great lol.

Good that you got a +opk already, that means today is the day! :) Keep on bding!!

Sounds like a great plan babyb. I was the same and now i temp and do opks and over analayze it all 😂 so hard to not get invested in it all.

How old are you if you dont mind me asking?

Im cd 21 today and yesterday and today habe had almost pos opks and had ewcm yesterday which is a good sign i find cm hard to analyze that as i dont have too much of a noticeable change in it. We have bd the last 4 nights so will see how we go. I try to stay positive but i can feel it. Sandme, I'm going to start temping to try to pinpoint when OV typically happens for me but other than that, probably nothing other than using the Ovia app. I'm wary of getting too obsessed, too quickly (just my personality type) as I realise it will probably take several months... I can see myself getting my hopes up each and every month, even though logically I know it doesn't usually happen so easily.

I really hope this month is your month, Sandme. I've followed this forum for a wee bit and definitely crossing my fingers that this will be it for you. Just keep thinking positive thoughts and remember that the result will be worth all the stress, tears and disappointment along the way.

Im still around! Sadly lol. Cd 7. I think my thoughts were right and i o'd early on cd 17 and ended up having a 32 day cycle! I was so excited lol. I am going to start using opks and bding from tomorrow as i had end of af/spotting yesterday. Much more bd this month for me!

Sandme any updates on where you're at this cycle? Was it a shorter one, or did you get a bfp already??!! Today is OD for me I think, or it was during the night at some point - 2 days later than usual this month. Those damn opks keep screwing with my head! Ovulation kits look so confusing Sandme! I wouldn't know how to get my head around it all to begin with.. Sorry to hear AF arrived bubbalove, how is your week going otherwise?

Things are going all good with baby so far, I'll be 13 weeks along on Tuesday and having our second visit with our midwife that morning. Ooh maybe that means the metformin is working already? Although that would be quite a short cycle in that case. Maybe keep doing opks for the next few days? In case that line on day 10 really was just nothing. Hmm based on your opks I would say OD may have been on 10/10. What was your temp on 11/10? When charting, a temp rise of at least 0.2C confirms OD.

hey ya she's due any day now, thought I saw a bit of a pinky tinge in my cm yesterday so can't be far off.

My opks always have a build up to a + as well, so doesn't sound strange to me! Last month I got a +opk at 8pm so when it starts showing a faint line I start testing a few times a day till I get my +, although most of the time I never get a full +. This month was a weird one so not exactly sure when OD was lol.

Marie you're welcome to hang out with us still, we could do with the companY! How many weeks are you now? Had any scans yet?

Hey bubbalove how you doing? Still waiting for af? Im cd 18. Using opks and temping this month. Just took an opk and although it sounds silly to some there is a medium strength line!! Previous days it has been stark white and neg so i hope like crazy it progresses to a full on positive opk!

ah man I hate it when DH isn't up to it! Feels like I'm forcing him to BD! That's why we said every 2nd day rather than daily this month, you're right it's just so mentally draining isn't it.

Did they say how long it might take to start making your cycles shorter? 40 something days just seems far too long to have to wait while ttc :( If you're temping though for sure you'll be able to tell if you O this month.

Hey bubbalove the metformin is supposed to shorten my cycles and get me ovulating properly so i am hoping to be able to see a difference soon. I need to get a day 21 blood test to confirm o once my cycles are shorter and regular.

I am temping again this month too i think i actually missed o cycle just been. I had pains right had side logged it on ff on cd 32 but didnt bd as partner wasnt up to it. Worked out i got my af on day 47 i think it was whixh would have made it 2 weeks exactly since o which would be a 14 day lutheal phase which is normal. If my theroy is right anyway!

Enough about me. How long is your cycle normally and when do you start doing opks? Do you temp? Maybe you will o later this month!? Oh how i wish it was eaaier. Its so draining. sorry to hear af came sandme :( How will you know if the metmorfin is working? Will you see the doc again or just keep going at it again this cycle?

Meanwhile this is a very weird cycle for me - OD is usually on cd14, but today is cd15 and still no +opk (only a near + yesterday but not sure that counts). And not much ewcm either, I only get it when I go in to check lol.

Anyway trying not to stress and just bd'ing every 2 days this month. Back ache is weird. I didn't have that symptom until I actually was pregnant.
Just try to look at it like each month is one month closer to your BFP, work out a plan for next month and then try again. Much easier said than done I know :)

I was using opks and temping before i was diagnosed with pcos. Thats how i figured i wasnt ovulating. I think i will use them and temp next cycle and see if i can pin point o for sure. My doctor wants me on the metformin for a few months and i once my cycles are shorter (haha!) Ill get a day 21 blood test to confirm if i have ovulated so i know im on the right track ita jusy yotally the longest track ever.whats throwing me is my backache. I never ever have had a sore lower achy back like this prior to af. Anyway thank u for listening.

The one thing I realised was that I had completely miss times my ovulation and reminded me to just rely on OPKs and how I felt and not focus on the days. Took one babygiss. Was neg as expected. To say im gutted is an understatement. Have constant backaches atm and cd 46 when my cycles have been 41 days is just cruel. Im about 9-10dpo and my temp dipped super low again today, have been crampy too so it looks as if AF is on her way although that would be really early for me as im only CD24.

Im not sure what dpo i am due to not being sure when i ovulated. My fertile weel was from 1/9 - 6/9 and we bd on 1st,3rd and 6th.

I felt exactly the same when I tested and had totally prepared myself for a negative test. I think I was about 15dpo and it was 100% positive. The way I look at is the longer i put it off the more I got my hopes up. Congrats on your positive. I am having the same lower back pain like af is already here but it hasnt shown yet. Was due sun/mon. Too scared to test becuase i dont want to be disappointed. Ive been on the metformin for coming up 4 weeks. I would have thought my cycle would have been spot on 41 days if anything and not longer as the purpose of the metformin is to shorten the cycles. I need to get back into temping court. I find weekends hard though as im not up at 6.15am like i am monday to friday for work. Fingers crossed it was an implant temp dip. I have 4 tests at home and wont test yet as i tested last month and then af was there literally straight after i took the test. I just laughed. Was ridiculous.

I just checked cervix and its still med height with lots of cm and med-firm. Not sure what to think of that. As far as i am aware your cervix drops before af and opens up to allow blood to pass through. I really dont think i am pregnant though as it just seems impossible and feels like it wont ever happen!

Im doing ok, around 7-8dpo today. This is my first time charting BBT and I had a massive dip in temp yesterday but its back up high again today. Had a quick google and it seems like it could be an implantation dip? My af is due today and i have extremley sore lower back like i get once af is in full force on day 1 and 2. No sign of af yet and i usually wake up to it.
Also i found something really unusual. I smelt my partners coffee so well. I was on the other side of the room about 6 metres away and it was like i was sniffing the cup lol. He couldnt smell it!! Bizarre. Probably all in my head lol

I actually got it off someone off this forum, the box says preseed on it but on the bottom it says its by First Response so they should be the same thing!
Im not even sure if it will make a difference, I seem to make a decent amount of EWCM but im getting so desperate to conceive I will try anything haha.

Sandme- I haven't ever checked cervix position, I have no clue what im feeling for haha
Hopefully the cramping and nausea are good signs! Hey girls glad theres still company in here lol.

Af is due sun/mon. Im cd 37 today. Had cramping and a bit of nasuea today but the nausea may be from the metformin although i have been feeling great the last few days.

Do you guys check cervix position? Ive been logging that to see if theres any noticeable differences through the month. Im about 2DPO today I think. I tried charting this month and using preseed so we will see if that makes any difference at all!
