I never had an issue with TT with cloth nappies, if anything I think that is why the learn earlier cause they don't like being wet.

Put clothes on him at home put take him to the toilet every 2 hours and you should be able to keep him dry. Just watch the first time to see if 2 hours is the right amount of timing, maybe 1 .5 hrs may be better or 2hrs 20mins might be ok but 2.5 might not. Hi thx for your replies. Daycare says they remind him to go toilet lots but I'm not so sure. I still remind him quite often at home too. I used cloth nappies too so think he may just be confused between nappies and undies. I think he does get very engrossed in the activities at daycare but i would think after several months we should be making progress by now! Some days i just think maybe i should put himback in nappies but daycare say that will confuse him more and now i just have to go with it. Am soooo sick of washing several lots of clothes per day and hate having to take him places or get a babysitter in due to the risk of accidents!

DD1 got toileting pretty quickly, would take herself to the potty unprompted and no accidents, but like your boy, it was as long as she was not wearing any pants. We had two or three attempts at knickers at home, each ended in accidents everywhere, washing for days and me going nuts, so we went back to pants off.

After a while, I decided enough was enough, that she had to toilet train with clothing so I started reminding her every so often instead. Since she knew her cues, it worked well - I think the issue here was as soon as there was clothing of any kind, she felt she was wearing nappies so got lazy (she had worn cloth nappies so perhaps the clothing felt similar? Or maybe just having *something* on in general?). We are still dealing with accidents here and there - fantastic with poos, a little lazy with wee's if she is zoned in on something (usually tv, my couch has taken a beating!)

He will get there eventually and is still quite young so try not to stress - perhaps a different approach would help though (i.e. the reminding/asking if he needs to use the toilet, and getting daycare to follow suit). I would be inclined to focus on getting him into undies at home in the first instance, which will hopefully have a positive effect on him at daycare too. How are they doing toilet training at his daycare? I know some kids get so involved with what they're doing that they forget about going to toilet. ok so I dont really know what to do next.
My son is 2 years 7 months and we've been toilet training for about 4 months. He is virtually toilet trained (both wees and poos) when he is not wearing anything, but put him in undies and it's 50/50 whether he will use the potty for wees, and not at all for poos. It's fine at home as I just leave him nude, but he has to wear clothes at daycare and has usually two accidents a day. It's been like this for ages. I use heaps of praise (and chocolate) when he uses the potty, but it's just not getting better.
