With this one I do wonder if it's more the pooh being trapped & not being rinsed out properly?

But lately I've done a week of washing with washing soda & a cannistan rinse & that has worked
My eyes water from the really stinky poos, quite a shock after breastfeed nappies! I could probably try stripping them as if it were ammonia just to see if it helps but the smell is really different. Also adding water to his bottles, I did this in the beginning when he refused to drink water on its own but stopped a few weeks ago since he started drinking more water from his sippy cup. Thanks for the suggestions. I was hoping there was a magic "smell-no-more" something I could add to the wash cycle (really wish I could add softener as it smells so good) but I've been googling and so far nothing, only suggestions of switching to disposables or changing detergent.

You might have hard water which means your washing detergent isn't working.

If your eyes water you sure it's not ammonia?

But anyway, I found that with my baby when she's actively refluxing her nappies are really bad. I've found adding small amounts of water on top of the milk they have helps. Saying that I didn't do that until after 4 months.
We use MCN and they have started smelling really bad this week. It is not an ammonia smell and I am thinking it is from the neocate formula as his poos smell really bad (my eyes still water when I have to change him). It is mostly the fuzzibunz and even after washing them again I can still smell them. I use flush able liners, and I first do a cold rinse cycle (or just the quick wash cycle on my machine without detergent) then I do a long warm cycle using rocking green with an extra warm rinse. Do anyone know what I can do to get the nappies smelling better, I really don't want to have a smelly baby but I also don't want to switch to disposables. Thanks.
