My poor wee man has been battling with a horrible cough for the past 2 weeks'ish so i went and bought some "duro-tuss" cough medicine yesterday and gave some to him then he went off to play with his cousin, half hour later hes comes out and his lips were all swolen!!! and he could barely open his mouth!! . I immediately thought that his cousin may have smacked him in the mouth (has done it before!), then it slowly went down, then he went down for a nap and i gave him more duro-tuss only when he woke up his fat lip was back!!. I stupidly thought that it was just flaring up again!!...so then this afternoon i gave him a dose before putting him down for a nap but when he woke up his eye was all swolen!!! and he couldnt open it so at that point i clicked as nothing had happened to give him a bung eye in his sleep!! so i thought the medicine and rung the doctor to ask for advice to which she got all panicked and told me to rush him down....well in the end he was given an antihistimene and we were told that hes alergic to Codeine which was the main ingredient in duro-tuss and hubby/dadda is also alergic to it (we found that out the hard way when he had a reaction while taking it in hospital for kidney problems!!!) so in fact he got it from dadda!! (apparently hareditary!).
