Those transfusions suck dont they catrad. I had to have 2 units (was meant to be 3 but I refused the 3rd). The second bag leaked out of the vein into my arm towards the end and my arm swelled up and now I have a pretty impressive bruise. hi everyone

have had no comp access all week!!

well jett radley taylor is now 7 days old

my waters broke promptly at 9am on my due dat but nothing really happened untilo 1am on the 25th when i started getting contractions really strong but i still went back to bed until 3.30am when i woke up screaming in agony and rushed to the hospital where jett was born at 4.04am! weighing 7lb 14.5oz soooo cute

A little update cos I think this'll be the last time I get on here: contractions coming every 5 mins still & slowly getting more unbearable. Phoned MW about 1:15am & she said things need to change a bit more before going in, i.e. contractions TOO strong. But then dont't really want to leave it too late either. Went back to bed but no point as can't sleep - contractions too close together. Feeling really tired now though & would love a nap!!! Will try hang out for another hour or so, then may have to ring mum & get her to come around & me scoot off to have this baby!!!

I may be jumping the gun here, but I'm hoping this is it!

Woke about an hour ago to cramps, coming every 5 mins. Got up about 40 mins ago as too uncomfy in bed. Now coming every 10 mins lasting about 20 or so secs. REALLY don't want to be getting my hopes up, but been having niggles all day which is not like me. Am waiting for them to stop altogether & if so will go back to bed. Otherwise if they're still coming regularly will call MW.

I'm a little unsure what to do really if they don't stop. May sound silly, but being that I'm at least 4cm dialated (that was on Monday) & contractions coming regularly that would be classed that I'm in established labour & knowing that i need to go on antibiotics well before bubs comes I fear I'll leave it too late. So I guess MW will tell me what to do if cramps keep coming & I give her a call. I could probably still talk through them if I had to - but being that it's 12:50am no one is up to talk too! But they are making me very uncomfortable & make me cringe.

So am trying to keep myself occupied inbetween the cramping! Have had a couple of cramps whilst typing this.

PLEASE PLLLLLEEEEAAASSEE LET THIS BE IT!!!!!!!

Far out! it is really quiet on the forum these days.. Wondering how you are getting on italiah? Still feeling exciting hun?  I can't wait to hear the good news!! You haven't been on since early this afternoon.. could this be..?  The weekend starts tomorrow. If not this weekend - monday is not much more than a blink away either

Just heading to bed before baby is due for his next feed.  It's cool to hear you're enjoying your precious tom nzpiper, he sounds lovely.  Yep, nappy change can definitely upset the apple cart lol!

I often just watch baby sleeping & think how lovely he is.. I'm sure you girls are doing the same with your little ones too.. Just thinking of your other 2 italiah - Do you continue to do this when they aren't as small? I wondered if it's only something we do when they are brand new..., I hope not because it's such a nice feeling I get when I take time to watch my little man sleeping, it's time well spent

the little angel is still asleep....he wakes up and just coos to himself and then....goes back to sleep. I have to "catch" him between sleeps for feeds. My MW assures me this is ok. But he just doesnt cry (unless I change his nappy then he screams blue murder!!!)

I wish.... I'm being teased a lot with cramps but nothing consistant. Have been trying to keep my mind OFF it & keep busy. Otherwise I get so annoyed with myself for expecting things to have happened by now.

Can't believe it's almost my due date! Think my show has come away though... could be wishful thinking, but definitely some icky stuff has come away. Still, may not mean a lot & could be another week....

That means TODAY!!!!!!! So she was wrong about the sex... but I've just text her & told her she HAS to be right about the date!! Although when she first made that prediction (obviously before we found out the sex) I was thinking I would've had him well before the 29th!

Oh it's doing my head in!

Its all quiet at home. Tom slept from 12 through to 6am!!! I fed him and now he is curled up with daddy. So I thouhgt I would take the time to update you all.

I started having little irregular contractions on the Monday morning and they continued all day but I didnt want to get my hopes up as they were 8min then 20 min etc apart. These continued all day and then when went to bed they started coming a little more regular. Even when they were nearly 3 min apart I didnt believe that anything could actually be happening!! DH phoned the MW at 1.30am and we met her at the hospital at 3am.
Sparkle you are right contractions in the car suck!!!! Especially going round corners!

Arrived at hospital 3-4cm dilated and things progressed nicely for a while. I used gas (struggled to do that well though) and massage until I was allowed in the pool at 5cm. The pool didnt help!! They were so sore and I was really struggling. I asked for the epidural!

It took a while for the anesthetist as it was a very busy night and there were lots of emergency c -sections. In that time my MW wondered if I was ready to push as I was beside myself and felt the urge to poo (TMI). So she put me on the loo. Nothing happenend and then my OB arrived and did an internal to find I hadnt progressed past 5cm

It took 2 hours to get my epi but once I did I was in heaven!!! Now I see why people have more than 1 child. I managed to rest and sleep on and offfor most of the day. Epi in at 9am began pushing at 5.30pm. When they broke my waters they found thick meconium so they were monitoring things pretty closely.

I began pushing just after 5.30 and Tom was born at 6.06 with a little ventouse assistance. I held him briefly before he was whisked off to the paeds as he needed to have everything sucked out of his lungs. He had trouble breathing well so they took him and daddy away to Nicu and put him on a breathing machine.

Meanwhile I wasgetting tidied up and stitched (got offlightly with a small vaginal all tear). Suddenly I was inagony!!!! Worse than labour and I was beside myself. They couldnt work out what was wrong and gave me panadol, voltaren and then finally pethidine...then I passed a massive clot and felt better. But i was in lala land from the peth and as a result couldnt get down to see my boy that night. but NICU were brilliant and they took photos and DH brought me updates.

at 3am they brought him up to me for a feed...he was lovely!!! and fed well. They took me down at 6 for another feed and then discharged him to the ward with me at 9am.

He was put on anitbiotics for the first 48hours and then as they were chcking him out for discharge they noticed a bulging fontanelle. They were worried about possible meningitis, inflammation, a bleed etc so they did a lumbar puncture!! and an ultrasound on his brain.

The results were a little inconclusiveso they decided to keep us in and keep up the abs. Then of course he was doing so well that they extended his course of abs to 7 days!

But yesterday they decided that none of his cultures grew anything so no infection, and that the most likely thing was a sub arachnoid haemorhage (little bleed near brain) from the birth process and that it had all resolved and things were good. we could go home.

We have to go back on Monday for another scan,

Meanwhile Tom has taken to feeding like a duck to water. He is a hungry litle fella and is definately in a good paddock. I have had no problems with feeding at all. Milk supply is great! Engorgement was doable and now the boobs feel more normal in size. Nipples are lasting all be it a little bruised (Tom likes to reposition himself afew times and uses his handsto grab my nipple...helpful sod).

He is the most adorable little guy with strength and determination that makes us proud. He is so alert. I will try and post some photos now.

Italiah - bummer about the water being turned off. One very handy hint, make sure you run the outside tap for awhile to clear the pipes, as the last thing you want before your little man arrives is grit and dirt in the workings of your taps and shower rose. It could damage the workings. (sorry worked for a plumber for 7 years). Ha! That's what I'm afraid off shell! I could be sitting here dialating without even knowing it, then my waters will break & baby will come flying out! And thanks for the update on Melln. Wow - that's a long time to be "waiting" for things to kick in! Hope she doesn't need a c-section after all of this. Only dialating 1cm in a day - how frustrating!

Lets hope it all goes well for her & her baby is born today!

I thought she'd be well & truely holding her little one by now.

Gosh I'm soo bored. Our water is off for the day (stupid council!!) so can't do a lot. Thankfully did a load of washing last night to hang out today. And thankfully I woke earlier this morning & had a shower before they cut off the water. I completely forgot they were cutting it off, so all a coincidence that I was up early & out the door by 9am - when they first cut it - & it's not back on till 3pm!! Can't even have a glass of water. just thought id post a quick update on melln,shes in hospital went in saturday to be induced but bubs obviously is very comfy there cos last i heard she was still there (about 10 this morning) yesterday morning she was 2cms when they checked mel this morning when they broke her waters she was only 3! poor thing! but she said the contractions are starting to hurt so heres hoping its a sign things are moving along.

oh italiah!! i sympathise, i was like that with charli for at least 3wks before she arrived. when i was in labour at 41wks i didn't think anything of it until my mum said....ahh i think you should call the mw

Ok, so how do I STOP getting my hopes up that i'm going to go into labour overnight???!!!!!

For AT LEAST the past 3 weeks I've been expecting it to happen every day. Over the weekend I was cramping sat & sun nights, then yesterday could hardly walk for a couple of hours due to the pressure on my pelvis. Last night I had a few cramps in the evening but nothing much at all. And I slept relatively well, now today it's all very quiet.

well just had word from nzpiper - Sounds like things are working out & hospital might be sending mummy & baby tom home tomorrow!

sorry that I haven't been on much girls.. I am so distracted with ethan these days (I can see you are alot better than me at being online) I'malways keen to see what everyone is up to - managed a fairly good sleep this morning.

mw came round at 1pm - ethan is growing really well - he has outgrown his newborn nappies so onto the next size up - amazing how quickly they grow at this age huh? Don't grow up to fast baby!!

Well things are looking good!! First my BP is right up - so MW was excited & said it's pre-labour. Then baby's moved to the left (yay) she thinks as she's sure it's bumpy like the limbs on the right. I asked if she could do a sweep as I wanted to see if I'd dialated. She said I was already 3cm, so stretched me to 4cm. And baby is engaged! So anyday for sure! But who knows... we still made an appt for next Monday "just incase". Thanks for the labour vibes girls - I feel them!!!

Have been having cramps the past 2 nights, but all ceases in the morning. But today everytime I go to walk it feels like he's going to "fall out" & it's sooo uncomfortable & painful! Had to get my mum to pick up the kids & take Rico to kindy, & there is no way I can get the groceries, I can hardly walk. See my MW at 3:30 today, so will be interesting to see what she says. Although she may have to come out to me in the car if I can't walk into the clinic!

Two of my friends came in this morning & did my housework for me! Sooo sweet of them! My housecleaner bailed on me once again, so they came in to help me out. They did more than I asked to be done - the oven & windows! So that was wonderful! I felt so bad seeing them hard at work so went off for a shower so I didn't feel like I was hanging around in their way. I went out & bought lunch for them afterwards.

This thread is sooo quiet now I'm the only one left! Well this morning I felt ok considering the lack of sleep. Was awake from 12:45am till about 4:30am!! I went for a drive with the kids after I did some housework this morning, as DH is at work today (wants to get a job done in 5 days & have it finished by Tuesday), & while out driving I saw my sister's car parked at the beach, so ended up on the beach with her & stayed a couple of hours. It was a bit windy down there but lovely. My kids were dressed warmly anyway, but I was only wearing a thin long-sleeve top (not expecting to get out of the car), but her DH had a spare jersey so that was perfect.

Now the tiredness is starting to hit me & so the kids are going to bed & I'll go for a sleep also.

I remember this time last week & I was thinking "well surely by NEXT Sunday I would've had baby", but no, still here in one piece!! MILA WAS BORN AT 8:40PM ON THE 24TH (FRI) WEIGHING 8 LB 2 OZ!! She had a 9 hr labour.

Yes it's 3:17am & I'm wide freakin awake! Have been since 12:45am. Woke to hear Gia crying & needed to go to the toilet so went, then as soon as i got back into bed I had painful cramping, then needed to get up & go #2's! Got back into bed AGAIN & was still having cramping. So i was thinking that I REALLY needed to get some sleep so was trying my hardest to get comfy again & drift off, but then another cramp would come. They stopped after an hour or so, but now I'm wide awake, so I've been up on the net, trying to tire myself out. I'm really hungry too, but can't be bothered getting up to make myself anything. Now I KNOW I'm going to be knackered tomorrow with the lack of sleep.

Cooper seems to want to feed every 2 hours since about 1030 last night. I'm happy to do it though, as I don't want him going backwards.

Sparkle that's great Cooper has put on weight & the feeding is going better. Normally when you feel your milk come down it's like a tingling feeling, perhaps it feels like this when you say it's refilling?

Haven't heard from chonni at all. Hope everything went well, I guess it means she had her baby.

Gia's still very careful with her arm & cries if she tries to use it. She's used it a couple of times last night when playing, but I've noticed it just dangles down by her side. At least she's happier than what she was yesterday, she sat on the couch most of the day (besides her 3 hr sleep) & watched her fav Brainy Baby - Animals - dvd.

We're probably going to watch the Bay play today just down the road from us. It looks to be another lovely day so it will be nice to get out. feeding is going much better.

He put on 220grams (I think!) in the two days so mw was happy for me to go back to exclusively bf as of yesterday morning.

I'm not feeling any let down of my milk, not that I would know what that feels like! But he is definitely swallowing alot more frequently so I know he's getting something.

That and sleeping for more than 3 hours at a time, so I know he must be full.

My boobs are definitely heavier though. And I don't know if this is common, but I'm sure I can feel them "re filling" for a few hours after I've fed Cooper. Yeah, I don't like those 'pain' cries...I got one last night...I was feeding Bella and she quickly pulled off my breast and a squirt of breast milk squirted her in the eye!! Haha shell, I HOPE SO!! I was thinking whilst waiting at the radiology place i bet I'll go into labour while all this is happening! But no.... and I pretty much have to stay at home today to nurse Gia, until her arm is ok to move around again. So I'll be here, waiting waiting, thinking when it's going to happen! I was so sure I'd wake this morning to contractions... but once again was wrong! I wish I could switch off to it.

It was so horrible at the dr's when he was feeling her arm & moving it around & she was screaming. So horrible to have your child hurting like that! Thankfully dh was there for the xray so he took her in & I waited outside.
