We have a blue sparkly one but we have been using a yellow one and just turning it on gives enough light. We dont need to let it warm up totally (cause it takes ages).

She now has one in her room and it's just low enough to light her room a teeny bit, but dark enough for her to go to sleep. With Paris at her age we just had the halway door open and the hallway light on, but Ayja is tooo nosy and won't sleep if she sees the door open. I thought the ones mum got me looked icky (old lady flowery ones..) but they have worked really well. nice and cheap.. something like $5 - $10 each if that..

Edited by mum2paris

The lamps we have in our bedroom are fine (25 watt bulbs, standard kinda lamp) but if I'm going to be getting up in the middle of the night, if I had a lamp like that one it's gonna blind me to death so i want something less powerful. Today while I was enjoying boxing day sales I couldn't find anything that wasn't as strong. Any ideas? or what do the rest of you do?

I'd have great night time vision and would rather have very dull light and so that my eyes have less to adjust to and also hopefully make it a tiny bit easier to go back to sleep afterwards
