Thanks Vick...that is helpful. There is one child there who I think is a bit 'tough' towards him and did wonder if that was part of it. We are going to have a meeting with is teacher so hopefully that will help. He has been such a good child so far and this type of behaviour is out of character for him.

It could be just a stage Jayden went through something similar with Kindy although his was swearing and not wanting to be there. He could just be testing the waters so to speak. Jayden didthis for a few months and then got over the whole not wanting to be there.

As far as the being mean is he possibly getting picked on which might explain the misbehavior. Even at that age after working in quite a few Creches I found that some kids can be very exclusive with their friends and quite nasty to "outside children", so to speak. Maybe talking to the staff and asking them to try to include him in more group activities, Or he may be shy at creche and finding it hard to make friends and if he's feeling left out he could just be getting defensive.

I have never seen a child being asked to leave due to bad behavior and believe me we had some shockers, Kicking, biting, hitting and throwing things and that was at the kids and the teachers so he should be ok.

Reading this back I'm not really a lot of help sorry I hope he settle in for you, it's horrible leaving them when they are upset, but take heart nine times out of ten even with the big kids they settle 2-5 minutes after mum leaves. Harry is 3 and a half and has been at creche since three months. He has a brother who is 14 months who goes to the same creche. Harry has been generally a well behaved boy but for the last couple of months...or weeks, I'm not sure when he started to miss behave, he has changed.

Drop off at creche in the mornings is a real drama, he gets upset, clingy etc. Says he hates creche and he has no friends. We have learnt that he isn't always nice to the other kids so they don't want to play with him. Twice the teachers have spoken to us about his behaviour but he is generally well behaved at home although we are getting tougher with him when he is naughty and am trying to teach him that there are consequences to his bad behaviour.

Has anyone been through something similar, is it a stage that boys of this age go through....and if he continues to be naughty, can creche ask that he be taken out?????
