Then I thought I'd get some pockets to try and by the time bubs is a little bigger and we know more about what its bottom will and wont do we can settle into to some nice pockets!<br /><br />I'm so excited!!!!!  Hopefully I will be this excited with pooey naps too<img border="0" src="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/smileys/smiley5.gif" border="0"> ]]>

It could be done but it is much easier to use the provided sposies for the first few days especially with the lovely meconium (tar poo <img border="0" src="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/smileys/smiley12.gif" border="0">)<br /><br />But if you choose to go cloth at the hospital then good on you and the best of luck.  I am still waiting on the pockets I ordered for Caleb although he is probably still to small for them yet as they seem to be from 3.5-4 kg.  Hopefully by the time they get here he might be closer to fitting them and not have such scrawny chicken legs <img border="0" src="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/smileys/smiley12.gif" border="0"> ]]>

But in saying that, cloth nappies seem to have good resale.<br /><br />Have you thought about what you'll do at the hospital? Most (all?) hospitals provide sposies now so you'd have to take your own MCNs and then have them washed, what happens if you choose to stay there 4 days? Will DH happily wash and dry them for you? <img border="0" src="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0">]]>

Snazzipants has what looks like a great deal on prefolds "special delivery pack" which is all your prefolds, some covers etc for $110.  I might also get the odd pocket to experiment with. I think I want swaddlebees so that will give me the chance to see how they really fit.<br /><br />All I know is I would really really like to try and have a baby who has never seen a sposie......possibly overly unrealistic  but it must be possible....our bums where in cloth from day1]]>

They were great for containing everything. It was just that extra layer to keep things in that pocket nappies don't have. If you do go with prefolds & covers, make sure you get a snappi. It holds the prefold snug around the baby & helps prevent leaks.]]>

Now she has so much she can't fit a small already lol. I used the disposables from my baby shower for the first few weeks, only bought 2 packs and one is still unopened. I used the medium pockets (HH and Fuzzis) as covers until they fitted them well enough to use as pockets too.]]>

I don't find the aborbancy of prefolds as good as pockets but because you tend change nappies so much in those first few weeks they are perfect and also a cheaper option than using solely pockets. I was planning on using pockets (have fallen in love with swaddlebees) but have just been reading up on prefolds and covers and that sounds like a possibility for the first few weeks then moving on to pockets.<br /><br />What say you all????]]>
