Emma Rose is 14.5 months and she is standing and cruising on the furniture, but not walking on her own yet. One of my brothers walked at 8 months, the other not until 16 months, and I think I was somewhere around a year. Some kids work on their physical skills, and others work on things like verbal skills, and still others try to work on both at once, so their rates of development can really vary. You can't really compare kids when it comes to milestones like walking, because "normal" is such a personal, subjective thing dependent on so many factors.
