(oh, and mike always reckons that the chocolate cake smells icky when it's cooking.. just to warn you.. it still tastes yummy.. dunno what the heck he's talkinga bout).. ok have i scared you yet.

125gm butter, melted in microwave for 30 - 40seconds (put paper towle over bowl to stop mess)
add three quarters of a cup of sugar, stir a little
then add one third of a cup of cocoa, OR the grated rind of one large orange.
Break into mixture 2 eggs,
add half a cup of milk, stir until combined
then add 1 cup of self raising flour.. slightly more might be needed for orange cake (i usually just chuck a couple of table spoons more if needed) and stir again until combined

Pour into ring shaped microwaveable cake tin lined with paper towel
place a saucer/bread and butter plate, upside down in the middle of the microwave plate, place the cake tin on this

microwave 5 mins on high.. 6 mins for orange cake

take out and stand on bench covered with paper towel to remove extra moisture, for 5 mins before removing from ring tin

I looove the chocolate one heated up with cream for pudding. and the orange one is yum with butter icing made with the orange's juice squeezed into it.

really quick to make when people are coming over.

Edited by mum2paris

Or have any idea how to convert cooking times from oven to microwave?
