its great when they jsut accept it eh.
I just threw out haleighs bottles she hardly drunk out of them anyway by the time we got rid of them so she didnt even care.
it was like the big bed transition she took to that fine to.

first night down and it was pretty good actually. well done, funny how they jsut accept it, yep he'll test the limits just to see if there's one last hope, but stay strong.. if he wakes in the night, remind him, and offer him some water in his new cup and a cuddle.. ie remind him about the new cup and throwing the bottles away, then say that you will give him a cuddle and he can have a drink of water in there if he likes but he has to go back to sleep after that. remind him that milk before bed is a nice way to feel sleepy and relax and get snuggly, but that only babies need milk at night.. like his little sister, and that remember he is a big boy, with a big boy's cup and he can have a drink of water like mummy and daddy do if they wake at night. Wow what a big boy, well done.. (ha ha ha, as said a million times, am the queen of spinning bull.. well not really - just coaxing and praising and reassuring till they forget what the heck they were tantruming about. lol.. distraction and making them feel important and special.. works a treat.. especially cos well, once they get there and achieve that goal, they feel great and so do you.    you might find that as well after only getting water .. which isn't as much a nutritional thing, his body might stop the habit of him waking so much at night as it's not getting the milk and top up of energy that it used to so will keep on sleeping (i hope so anyway.. that's what happened with ayja.

We were at the supermarket today and Kobe found a sipper cup thing he liked with racing cars on it and so i said he could have it but it would be instead of bottles (he has a bottle to go to sleep every night!) he said ok, so I made it clear that he would have to throw out his bottles when we got home and he said yes mummy cos i dont need them anymore. so ok, brought the cup, came home and he gathered up all his bottles and threw them in the bin outside. All the while Im thinking man this is going to get ugly tonight but no, come bedtime I gave him some warm milk in his new cup and he again said he didnt need bottles anymore so we read a story, he put his cup beside his bed and snuggled down. He came out about 4 times but never once asked for his bottle and I just kept putting him back to bed and so far so good. Im just amazed because everytime I have said no more bottle he cries till he makes himself sick and sometimes he has 3 bottles before falling asleep but then he needs to go to the toilet in the night and then wants another bottle to settle again. I just hope he doesnt wake in the night cos not sure how Im going to deal with a half asleep crying 3yr old but hey its a start.
