I HATED the belly belt, it never sat right and I thought it looked more like a loin cloth

It never worked with any of my pants because most of mine were hipsters and it never quite sat right. I used the smaller elastic straps in early pregnancy for just when I couldn't do my jeans up and wore a long top over it, but anything more than that wasn't any good for me.

Yep I used one throughout my pregnancy and it allowed me to wear my work pants and jeans for so much longer than I could have otherwise.. You have to wear a top that covers the space though cause it looks funny otherwise.. But was talking about things you can use to make your trousers more comfortable. They attach between the button and the loop.

Are you talking about the Melon Bellies Belly Belts? You can get 3 packs on Trade Me. I bought some. im using a tubigrip, but if you need a belly belt while pregnant your mw can refer you to a physio where they will fit you for a belly belt.
