I just went to the website and looked at the list of toys, Xanda has the Elmo guitar, so at the bottom of the list it had some check boxes, and I clicked the one that says I think I own one or more of these toys. It then took me to another page and asked if I had bought it prior to May 2007 or after May 2007. you have to send them back to Mattel - not the stores...

we bought the giggling elmo / cookie monster ball at toys r us the day the announcement came out in oz...nice of toys r us to tell us!!!! but cant imagine ella will get her mouth anywhere near it cause it rolls too fast so am not gonna bother....

We have the elmo guitar but it has a different code, so I assume it is ok.
