Our cot can be lowered and was, and Ella still managed to monkey her way over the bars when she was just over a year old!

i still dont get it - you have lowered his cot?

I haven't even thought about moving Tyrell. He is having problems sleeping through and ends up in our bed.
mmmm have no idea when we will move him. Maybe when he attempts to get out?

i remember Janine saying that she put Paris into a bed before she could walk and I don't think she had many problems at all - although i could be wrong! we just put Taine into his big boy bed and after a few rough nights, we have weathered the storm and he goes in there easily...naptimes however are a different story and are still being negotiated. taine does still crawl out and into our bed though. Yea his bed is quite close to the ground and I will put his cot mattress on the floor.

If you are really worried about him falling out of bed get a single airmattrass and put that next to the bed or another foam mattrass. I moved Briona when she was 15mos because she was using leverage and feet to climb the bars She liked the big bed but that probably had a lot to do with "little sister syndrome"

When I moved Hannah (17mos, so B could have the cot) I made the mistake of also changing her bedroom at the same time, so it took a bit to settle her for sleep the first 2 nights.

With both of them I had the bed set up and we played/pretend slept/read books/practised climbing on and off before the great transition. Put pillows on the floor and made the first sleep in bed, at night, so if they woke in the middle they would re-settle cause it was dark (that's my theory anyway). We have brought Ethan a big bed now because he is nearly falling out of his cot. We will move him into it in a month or two so he will be 12-14 months old.

I am starting to wonder if this is too early. I just don't want him to fall out of his cot and he nearly has twice now.
