21/12/2010 -Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature Electric Breast Pump I was thrilled to receive the Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature Electric Breast Pump last week. Its arrival was very timely as my 7week old son has had thrush in his mouth which has made my nipples very sore and they have cracks in them. So hence, feeding has been very painful..I figured I could pump for awhile to give them a chance to heal.. My initial reaction to the packaging was great. I think it looks likes a great product and you get a lot of bang for your buck. The steriliser and extras that come with the pump all seem like a really awesome bonus. It all looks really proferssional and almost fun! The instructions are all clear as a bell and easy to follow. The only thing left to do was give it a go. I have only ever used a hand pump before so was a little apprehensive so I used the lowest setting as reccommended. I am sorry to say that it was still very painful on my already painful nipples but less so than if baby was feeding. It took a bit of 'adjusting' to make myself comfortable. Once we were away though it was all good. I even braved myself to try the stronger settings once I got going and as reccommended which was fine. The product boasts that it is quiet but I did not think so at all. I was quite surprised by the volume I am sorry to say...Overall a very efficient pump that gets easier to use once you get the hang of it..I think it would be ideal for someone who had to express at work as it is very quick and easy. The sterliser box is little on the small side.It took me awhile to fit all the bits and pieces inside but once accomplished was excellent as 4 mintues in the microwave and bam! All sterilised! So much better than doing the old boiling on the stove trick… The bottles are great and my wee fella had no problem drinking his milk from them. Thanks Tommee Tippee and thanks OHBaby! I wouldnt hesitate to recommend this product to other yummy mummys!
